86 PTS WILFRED WONG. Kind of shy yet showy, the red-fruited, dried earth-like '07 Marilyn Merlot is a solid example of this varietal; fits its role very well; smooth aftertaste.

87 PTS WINE ENTHUSIAST. The '05 Marily Merlot is soft and fleshy; with 12% Cabernet Sauvignon to give some punch; has uplifted blackberry, cherry, dark chocolate and smoke flavors.

The blend is 97% Merlot and 3% Cabernet. The small addition of Cabernet gives the wine a more complex vinous aroma and a richer texture on the palate.
