A big wine, the Fairview Jakkalsfontein Shiraz plays large on the palate as it exhibits superb black fruit flavors; long and lusty in the aftertaste; a fine wine with grilled beef.

Deep ruby to garnet color; cherry and red currant aromas with notes of sweet earth and vanilla; youthful and fresh on the palate; bright berry flavors last through the finish.

88 PTS WILFRED WONG. A prime example of how well South Africa has come along, the '04 Fairview Sauvignon Blanc offers flavors of tart citrus and mineral; a lively wine in the finish; quite good.

Sweet cherry fruit flavors are matched with vanilla oak, and hints of cocao and herbs.

87 PTS WINE ENTHUSIAST. The '06 Fairview Shiraz offers hints of chocolate and clove spice; on the palate, tangy fruit and a fresh minerality offers restraint and a dry finish.

A nice Rhone-like effort from South Africa, the Goat Roti is a pleasing ripe, red-fruit effort made mostly from Syrah; drinks very well and easily satisfies the palate; serve with grilled beef.

90 PTS WINE SPECTATOR. The '00 Fairview Shiraz Cyril Back shows aromas of espresso and charred meat, with the meaty note riding through the very ripe black currant, prune and cocoa flavors.

Very attractive, the Fairview Pinotage exhibits superb balance and structure; pleasing with ripe raspberry flavors.
