Ripe, chewy and fulfilling, the nearly powerful '99 Elyse Sierra Foothills Zinfandel is a great reminder of the superb quality of real Zinfandel in those foothill areas of the Sierras; impressive.

Warm and inviting on the palate, this full-bodied wine shows deep flavors of perfectly ripe red, blue, and black fruits accented by sweet tannins, and intriguing oak nuances.

89 PTS WINE ENTHUSIAST. The '03 Elyse Tietjen Cabernet seems made in a less ripe style, a minty, wintergreen wine with hints of barely ripened blackberries and some briary wild berries.

The Elyse Petite Sirah is a big, rich red wine with fine grapey flavors; roundish on the palate.

This '98 Cabernet Sauvignon is powerful yet still very elegant. Showing ultra-rich black fruits, cherry and mineral flavors. The finish is polished and long with well managed tannins.

Powerful and lengthy, the '98 Elyse Cabernet is primed for a big, robust Porterhouse steak; Elyse is one of Napa Valley's hottest "little" wineries making rich, ripe, and dazzling red wines.
