Burgess Cellars

A well-defined cabernet, the '82 Burgess Vintage Selection has always been one of the best wines of this vintage; this wine is now quite ready for maximum enjoyment; enjoy it with some ripe brie.

Aged 30 months in oak, the Liberty Cabernets are then cellared for 7 years under ideal conditions at the winery. Elegant and rich, with bright, jammy flavors, this 1990 is still vibrant and complex.

87 PTS WILFRED WONG. Firm and well-built, the sturdy '03 Burgess Chardonnay stays steady on the palate with fine force and depth of core fruit flavors; a good choice with grilled pork cutlets.

86 PTS WINE SPECTATOR. The '04 Burgess Merlot is understated and slightly lean, with notes of cherry, green tea and spice followed by a firm, minerally finish; drink now.

85 PTS WILFRED WONG. A solid, sturdy effort, the understated '02 Burgess Zinfandel (while not overtly fruity) gains weight and strength on the palate as it sits in the glass; great with grilled beef.

90 PTS WILFRED WONG. A spot-on effort, serves up ripe fruit flavors that are smooth and supple on the palate.
